On Monday 9 December, Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen will meet leader of the Turkish AK Party Tayyip Erdogan. The Danish Prime Minister last had a meeting with Mr Tayyip Erdogan on 26 November.
Prior to the meeting, the Prime Minister states:
“Turkey has made a great effort to meet the EU requirements for initiating accession negotiations with Turkey. The new Turkish Government has indicated that it will continue this work, and I expect that Mr Tayyip Erdogan will present the Danish EU Presidency with an account of the further measures to be taken to reform Turkish society.
At the EU Summit in Copenhagen on 12 – 13 December, the EU will have to take a decision on the next phase of Turkey’s EU candidature. In that connection, all of Turkey’s progress in terms of meeting the EU requirements will be taken into account.
I look forward to again meeting the leader of the AK Party, Mr Tayyip Erdogan .”
The Prime Minister’s meeting with Mr Tayyip Erdogan will take place at 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM at Eigtveds Pakhus, Asiatisk Plads 2, 1448 Copenhagen K.
