Data Protection Regulation
When the Prime Minister's Office receives and processes your inquiry, the Prime Minister's Office will process data about you. According to Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing and free movement of personal data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (the General Data Protection Regulation), the Prime Minister's Office is required to inform you of the processing of your personal data.

2. The data protection officer (DPO) of the Prime Minister's Office

3. The purpose of the processing of your personal data
The Prime Minister's Office processes your personal data in the exercise of official authority. In this connection, your inquiry will be subject to the necessary administrative procedures, such as filing in accordance with the Danish Public Information Act (offent-lighedsloven) and storing in accordance with the Danish Archives Act (arkivloven).
4. The legal basis for the processing of your personal data
The Prime Minister's Office processes your personal data under the authority of Article 6(1) point (e) of the General Data Protection Regulation. The Prime Minister’s Office's processing of your data is thus carried out in the exercise of official authority.
The Prime Minister's Office processes your sensitive data, if any, which you yourself have provided under the authority of Article 9(2) point (f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims). The Prime Minister's Office is therefore required to file your inquiry in accordance with the provisions of the Danish Public Information Act.
5. Collection of personal data
The Prime Minister's Office only processes the data about you that are included in your inquiry. The data that will be processed therefore depend on the data you have provided in your inquiry. The data may include the following (for example):
• Contact and identifying information (e.g. name and e-mail).
• Information in your inquiry that you yourself have submitted to the Prime Minister’s Office, such as private matters, marital status, health-related matters, religious beliefs or political opinion, etc.
The personal data may include the following categories of personal data:
• General personal data and identifying information (CPR number).
• Data on criminal offences.
• Sensitive personal data.
6. Recipients or categories of recipients
The Prime Minister's Office may – and must in some instances – pass on your inquiry to public authorities (such as another relevant ministry), political parties, the Danish Parliament (Folketinget), the Danish Royal House or others for the purpose of answering your inquiry. You will normally receive notification if your inquiry is passed on to others. The Prime Minister's Office furthermore discloses data to its data processors (such as the Agency for Governmental IT Services in Denmark (Statens IT)).
7. Storage of your personal data
The Prime Minister's Office will process your data until they are filed or discarded pursuant to the provisions of the Danish Archives Act, see Consolidated Act no. 1201 of 28 September 2016, or as long as they are necessary for the purpose for which they were collected. When they are no longer required for administrative purposes, the data will be discarded (erased).
8. Your rights
Pursuant to Article 15 of the General Data Protection Regulation, you are in principle entitled to access the data that the Prime Minister’s Office processes about you. Pursuant to Article 21, you are in certain circumstances also entitled to object to the Prime Minister’s Office's otherwise lawful processing of your personal data.
Pursuant to Article 16, you are entitled to have any incorrect data about you corrected. Pursuant to Article 17, you are also in particular circumstances entitled to have data about you erased sooner than the time stated in the paragraph regarding storage and erasure.
Finally, pursuant to Article 18, you are, in certain circumstances, entitled to restriction of processing of your personal data. If you are entitled to restriction of processing, the Prime Minister’s Office may in future only process the data – except for storage – with your consent, or for the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims, or for the protection of the rights of a person, or for reasons of important public interest.

9. Complaint to the Danish Data Protection Agency
Any complaints regarding the Prime Minister’s Office's processing of your personal data may be lodged with the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet) pursuant to the provisions of Article 77 of the General Data Protection Regulation.
