AFR Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen to visit Paris on 15 July 2002

On 15 July 2002, Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen will have meetings with French President Jacques Chirac, French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin as well as Chairman of the National Assembly Foreign Affairs Committee Édouard Balladur.

The purpose of the meetings is to discuss the most important political issues during the Danish EU Presidency.

On the occasion of the visit, Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen states:

”I look forward to the meetings in Paris. France is a very important partner in the European co-operation. The meetings offer a good opportunity to discuss the most important political issues at an early stage of the Danish EU Presidency. The talks will first and foremost concern the enlargement of the EU. However, we shall also discuss a number of other important questions that will need resolving during the next six months.”

The Danish Prime Minister’s meeting and luncheon with President Chirac will take place from 12:45 PM to 2:45 PM.

A doorstep press conference will be held at 2:45 PM in the courtyard of the Elysées Palace, 55 Rue du Faubourg, Saint Honore, 75008 Paris.

A photo opportunity will also be arranged at the beginning of the meeting at 12:45 PM (attendance at the press pool no later than 12.25 PM).

The Danish Prime Minister’s meeting with French Prime Minister Raffarin will take place from 3:45 PM to 4:45 PM.

A doorstep press conference will be held at 4:45 PM at the Matignon, 57 Rue de Varenne, 75007 Paris.

A photo opportunity will also be arranged at the beginning of the meeting at 3:45 PM (attendance at the press pool no later than 3:25 PM).
