AFR Danish Prime Minister expresses sympathy for flood victims

Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen had a meeting on Friday 16 August with the Czech Prime Minister Vladimir Spidla, where the Danish Prime Minister expressed his deep sympathy with the damage and suffering inflicted on the Czech Republic and the Czech people in the wake of the extremely severe floods.

The Danish Prime Minister likewise stated that the Danish Emergency Management Agency has dispatched 10 specialists from its civil emergency preparedness unit to Prague, whose task will be to assemble and operate heavy-duty pumping equipment.

In addition, the Danish Prime has today sent letters to the German Chancellor, Mr. Gerhard Shröder and the Austrian Chancellor, Mr. Wolfgang Schüssel, in which he expresses his strong sympathy for respectively the German and Austrian people.
