In connection with the Danish EU Presidency, President of the Swiss Confederation and Minister of Finance, Mr. Kaspar Villiger will visit Copenhagen on Friday 30 August 2002 to meet Danish Prime Minister, Anders Fogh Rasmussen. Later on the same day the President of the Swiss Confederation and Minister of Finance, Mr. Kaspar Villiger, will have talks with the Danish Minister of Finance, Thor Pedersen. On the occasion of the visit, Danish Prime Minister, Anders Fogh Rasmussen states: “I look forward to receiving the Swiss President. The meeting is a good opportunity to discuss issues of relevance to the co-operation between Switzerland and the EU, including the ongoing bilateral negotiations between Switzerland and the EU. In addition, we will also discuss the priorities of the Danish EU Presidency and address UN issues, including the World Summit on Sustainable Development. I also expect that we will touch upon issues such as the fight against international terrorism and the Middle East.”

The Prime Minister's meeting with the President of the Swiss Confederation, Mr. Kaspar Villiger, will take place from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Prime Minister's Office in the Oak Room (Egetræssalen). At 11:30 AM there will be a door-step press meeting in front of the Oak Room. In addition, there will be a photo opportunity when the Prime Minister receives the President of the Swiss Confederation and Minister of Finance, Mr. Kaspar Villiger at Dronningeporten at 10:25 AM, and immediately before the meeting at 10:30 AM in the Oak Room.
