AFR Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen to address the European Parliament

On Wednesday 18 December 2002, Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen will deliver an account to the European Parliament in Strasbourg of the results of the meeting of the European Council in Copenhagen on 12 and 13 December 2002. The Prime Minister will furthermore participate in the subsequent debate in the Parliament, which also Danish Minister for European Affairs Bertel Haarder and EU Commission President Romano Prodi will attend. On the occasion of the meeting, the Prime Minister states: ”I am looking forward to presenting an account to the European Parliament on the proceedings of the Summit in Copenhagen, which is a high point in the history of European cooperation. The Copenhagen decision on the enlargement marks the reunification of Europe's peoples and states. I shall similarly use the occasion for reporting on the many other significant results achieved during the past six months of the Danish EU Presidency.”

The Prime Minister's account and the subsequent debate will take place between 09:00 AM and 12:00 noon in the European Parliament in Strasbourg. There will be a press conference with the Prime Minister and President of the European Parliament Pat Cox from 12:00 noon to 12:30 PM in the ground-floor press room of the European Parliament, the Louise Weiss Building in the European Parliament.
