AFR The Danish Prime Minister has had talks with the Czech Prime Minister

Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen has just had talks with Czech Prime Minister Vladimír Špidla.

After the meeting, Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen states:

“I have just had a good and rewarding meeting with Prime Minister Špidla. Our discussions focused on the negotiations of the Czech Republic on accession to the EU.

The meeting confirmed my impression that the Czech Republic has taken great strides forward in its preparations for membership of the EU. I am impressed by the progress achieved. There remain now only a small number of well-defined problems. Thus, the Czech Republic has a good basis for completing the negotiations during the Danish EU Presidency. I hope and believe that the negotiations will be successful.

The EU has laid down a clear time schedule for completion of the negotiations. It is of decisive importance to comply with this schedule. I am therefore pleased to note that the Czech Republic fully accept this time schedule.”
