Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen has just completed talks with Norwegian Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik.
After the meeting, Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen states:
”I have had a good and constructive discussion with my Norwegian colleague.
As expected, I noted that Norway and Denmark share views on a wide number of key international political issues.
Among the main topics of our discussion were the priorities of the Danish EU Presidency, including the forthcoming enlargement of the EU.
I noted with satisfaction that Norway expressed its full support and backing for the enlargement of the EU.
Furthermore, we discussed the EEA co-operation and the challenges that the co-operation will be facing in the coming year, not least seen in the light of the enlargement of the EU. We were in agreement on the importance that the enlargements of the EU and the EEA should take effect at the same time.”
The third central topic of our talk was the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg in September. Denmark and Norway will stay in close contact prior to as well as during the Summit in Johannesburg.”
